This section is based on numerous reports from individual customers and businesses affected by people pretending to be private investigators as well as the commitment of the members of our Association, who monitor the Polish market of private investigation services.

We welcome any reports on cases in which you might have fallen victim to ‘fake private investigators’. This information will help our Association to build a public database of dishonest people pretending to be private investigators.

Your reports, complaints and warnings can greatly contribute to minimizing the risk of unauthorized persons being entrusted with intimate details on someone's private life, corporate confidential data as well as any information that could potentially compromise the customer when disclosed.

 The person who refers to themselves as a private investigator without holding a license does so unlawfully, and thus – have no right to provide any investigation services.

Pursuant to the Detective Services Act, the professional title of 'private investigator' shall be used exclusively and solely by those holding an investigator's licence issued by the Regional Police Commander upon applicant’s meeting formal requirements and having passed a state examination.
